A DocuWare alternative with published pricing and built-in e-signatures
FileEazy and DocuWare are both document management and workflow platforms available in the cloud or on-premise. The difference is in how you buy them: DocuWare does not publish prices and is sold through partners, with e-signatures provided by external services whose certificates are bought separately. FileEazy publishes its prices — from $39 a month for 3 users — includes e-signatures in every plan, and lets you start with a free trial.
DocuWare pricing explained
DocuWare doesn't publish a price list. Its own pricing FAQ describes DocuWare Cloud as tiered plans that scale with the number of named users and the storage you need, sold as an annual subscription, and gives a typical range of $30 to $125 or more per user per month depending on plan size and user type. On-premises licences are bought outright, with support costing roughly 20% of the licence value each year after the first.
To get an actual figure, you book a consultation with DocuWare or a DocuWare partner, who sizes the system for your users, storage and workflows. Implementation workshops and services are priced separately, and e-signatures come from an external provider with its own subscription and certificates.
For a buyer, that means you don't know the cost until you're well into a sales process. It's harder to compare options side by side, to budget for the next hire, or to start small and grow. FileEazy publishes every plan's price per account, with users, storage and e-signatures included:
FileEazy published plans (annual billing, before tax)
| Plan | Price per account | Included |
|---|---|---|
| FileEazy Starter | $39 a month | 3 users, 50 GB, 25 e-signature requests a month |
| FileEazy Standard | $129 a month | 10 users, 250 GB, 100 e-signature requests a month |
| FileEazy Business | $349 a month | 25 users, 1 TB, 300 e-signature requests a month |
| FileEazy Premium | $599 a month | 50 users, 3 TB, 1,000 e-signature requests a month |
DocuWare figures are from DocuWare's own pricing FAQ, checked 12 October 2026, and are typical ranges, not quotes. Ask DocuWare or a partner for a figure for your organisation.

What published pricing means in practice
With FileEazy you can work out your cost before talking to anyone: a team of up to 25 people on the Business plan pays $349 a month on annual billing, including e-signatures, workflows, AI features and 1 TB of storage — and every plan starts with a free trial.
With DocuWare, cost depends on a quote for your users and storage, plus separate signature certificates from an external provider if you need e-signatures. That can suit larger organisations that want a partner-led rollout; smaller teams usually want to see the price first.

When DocuWare may be the better fit
A fair comparison should say when the other option is the right one. It may be if:
- You want a local partner to design, implement and support the system for you.
- You need a hybrid setup that splits services between cloud and your own servers.
- You already run DocuWare and depend on existing integrations or capture setups built around it.
